Phil is a graduate of the University of Toronto Law School (Juris Doctor, 1980) and has been a practising lawyer since 1982. He obtained his practical training as a partner in one of Canada’s oldest and largest law firms, on Bay Street in Toronto, Ontario. Phil has engaged in all aspects of private company business law during his career. He has participated in hundreds of commercial transactions involving privately owned businesses, including the financing and purchase and sale of several hundred businesses with enterprise values up to $40,000,000.00. Phil is an experienced board member, having served on boards of charities and private companies throughout his career. Phil has been designated a Certified Specialist (Corporate and Commercial Law) by the Law Society of Upper Canada, and sits on the Law Society’s Corporate and Commercial Law Speciality Committee.
